LETTER FROM SERVICE VICE PRESIDENT

Service Vice President

Being a part of Gamma Sigma Sigma at the University of Houston has been an experience that I would not trade for anything in the world. I have come across so many beautiful women who have dedicated their time to help our community and put service first and who have been a big part of my life and will continue to be there for me no matter what. I have had the absolute pleasure to watch my sorority grow from the ground up and flourish into something quite amazing.

I am a senior here at the University of Houston, majoring in Public Health with the hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner with my own practice. I have a passion for helping others and I want to educate people in my community about issues that they may not know may be affecting them. I believe the first step for me to tackle this is by starting with my role as service vice president. I want to change not only the lives of my sorors through service but the lives of everyone that we will come into contact with as we continue to help those through service.

As service vice president, my job is to supervise the chairmen of all service projects, keep record of all service hours and projects, and be ready to step in for the chapter’s president if the time were to come. This is only a short list of the responsibilities that I have as this chapter’s service vice president but I hold myself to the highest standards and want to make sure that I keep our motto of “Unity in Service” as my main priority.

I want my sisters to grow a passion for service and being able to help those around us whether it be with just a smile or helping to build a house. I want to be able to say that I have given someone a new perspective on what community service means. I am more than honored and proud to serve as the 2016 service vice president and I am excited to start this journey.

XOXO,

Brittney Onyia

To my beautiful sorors in service,
