Q: What is rush? What should I expect during rush week?

A: Rush is a week of activities that the sorority sisters put together to showcase our sorority and get potential members interested. This a time where potential members can come and get to know our sisters as well as the sorority. During this time a potential member should expect to talk to and get to know the active sisters and the sorority. During rush week is when we will have information sessions for potential members to come in and get information and ask questions about what it takes to become a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma.

Q: Who is allowed to join?

A: Gamma Sigma Sigma is a non-selective sorority. Because service is our main goal anyone who would like to join is allowed to go through the process of becoming a member.

Q: When is the best time to join?

A: The best time to join Gamma Sigma Sigma is completely up to you. We take potential members to begin the process of joining during our rush week. Each class of new members is made up of diverse people from different backgrounds. Make sure to keep up with us on our social media to know when our rush week is.

Q: What happens after rush week? What is the new member process like?

A: After rush week potential members begin the Member in Training (MIT) process. During this time new members will learn the traditions and history of the sorority. Also during the MIT process new members will begin to build a bond with their class members as well as active chapter members.

Q: What is the time commitment? Financial commitments?

A: Depending on how much time you put into the sorority is what determines what you get out of the sorority. It is a time commitment, however it is very manageable. We are all students and realize the new members are students also. Academics come first! We have lots of girls who are very active in the sorority as well as other clubs, activities, even jobs. As long as the line of communication is open there is not a problem. Gamma Sigma Sigma is a very affordable sorority and works with potential members when it comes to finances.
